We’ve pulled together ten top tips that will help your rural business to make the most of Instagram….
- Make sure that your Instagram profile/biography is set up and crafted properly. Does it include all the key information about your business that you want people to know?
- Have you added a link (or more) to your website? This is critical if you are a product-based business selling directly to the public. Check out Linktree for more info on how to host multiple links in your Instagram biography.
- Have you researched and identified the most relevant hashtags for your business? Start with Google and then check out your competitors and others who work in a similar sector.
- Be careful not to overuse common hashtags, you will just get lost. It’s far better to be niche!
- On Instagram, when you post, you are allowed to use up to 30 hashtags. Do make sure that you use all of these hashtags so that you maximise your chances of being noticed.
- Be active! We recommend that you try to post on Instagram at least twice a week and post two stories every day.
- Post video content, and specifically Instagram Reels which are 15-second video clips set to music
- Make use of the Instagram Highlights. Acting as a mini-website, your Highlights can tell the story of your brand, share glowing reviews or testimonials, and explain how people can buy from you/work with you. Use attractive covers for your Highlights and give them relevant titles.
- Using Story stickers is a great way to break down barriers and create relationships with people because they will see when you add a sticker!
- Make sure you use Instagram Insights so that you can see how your hard work is paying off and tweak your effort or focus if required.
