Would you share a book recommendation with me?

One of the most valuable things I’ve experienced since joining a business owners Facebook group has been the recommendations from other members for their best non-fiction reads.

Ever since I turned 40, I’ve lost a little interest in novels (although not entirely – my top recommendations on that front are The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne and Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell) and have become slightly obsessed with non-fiction books. Always keen to learn more, improve myself and develop my business (all the while admitting that there is a long way to go and that those sorts of journeys never end), I’ve started to read (and listen to – Audible is superb) more non-fiction books.  So I thought I’d share my top 5 recommendations with you – in the hope that you might be willing to share a recommendation with me in return?

• Atomic Habits by James Clear – simple but practical tips to help you kick bad habits and form good ones
• The E Myth by Michael Gerber – a very well known book, which I wish I had read years ago, about how to succeed as an entrepreneur
• Black Box Thinking by Matthew Syed – a fascinating book about how humans very rarely learn from their mistakes and how all our lives could be improved if we did
• The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor – quite simply, the premise that being happy makes you successful and not the other way around
• Genius Foods by Max Lugavere – a very interesting read about how you can protect your present and future brain by making better food choices
