Mimosa Tanned Sheepskins Puts Skyeskyns on Track Towards Neutral Carbon Footprint

Established in 1983, Skyeskyns, based in Waternish on the beautiful Isle of Skye, is the sole remaining commercial woolskin tannery in Scotland. The family business has today taken its next step towards a neutral carbon footprint, by introducing, for the first time, Mimosa Tanned Sheepskins - skins tanned using mimosa bark.

The Buffalo Farm Launches Crowdfunding Bid to Become Scotland's First Producer of Buffalo Mozzarella

Well known Fife farmer and star of the BBC’s ‘This Farming Life’, Steve Mitchell, has today launched a ‘Founders Club’ crowdfunding campaign to turn his buffalo mozzarella dreams into reality. Steve’s ambition is to provide Scotland with its first ever home-produced buffalo mozzarella, at the same time giving founding investors a 10 per cent return on investment.

Past Chairmen Seek Future Ambassadors

Twenty-five years since the very first AgriScot (formerly DairyScot) will be celebrated when the event takes place on 20th November this year. To mark the occasion, the first 2 chairmen of the event, Alex Brown and Robin Young, have agreed to act as joint independent assessors for the prestigious Scottish Dairy Farm of the Year award 2019.The pair, who will be aided in their assessment duties by current AgriScot board member, Gilmour Lawrie, are now calling for nominations and entries to the award.
