New Project Launched This Week...

We, the Scene & Herd team, are so excited to have this week launched a brand new project. OnRECORD is a personal recording service, aimed at capturing rural voices for posterity.OnRECORD helps rural families, communities and organisations to preserve unique voices, stories and memories for the future with professionally captured and expertly edited audio recordings of guided conversations.

The First Time

How often have we tried something, or witnessed others trying to do something, and not been great at it?I still refuse to go ice skating because the first few times I tried, I was hopeless (and now I never go because I simply can’t afford the inconvenience of breaking my wrist!) and I often hear my ten-year-old daughter showing reluctance to do something because she isn’t yet good at it.

Hello and welcome to the first Scene & Herd newsletter of 2024. We all hope that you had a lovely festive season. We certainly did. Our top tip (courtesy of the wonderful Delicious Magazine) from this Christmas is to roast your potatoes in advance of Christmas Day and freeze them so that you only have to reheat them on the day. Game changer!

Well, there we go, another year coming to a close. I must admit that, on a number of fronts, this year hasn’t been one of the best - not least because Monty is having to go through his gruelling treatment of chemo and radiotherapy.

As the end of the year grows near, our thoughts inevitably turn to what we’ve achieved...or not! It's worth remembering that we are still living with the after-effects of COVID-19 and Brexit, not to mention the cost of living crisis which has been exacerbated by conflict and, for many businesses, 2023 has been every bit as challenging as the past few years.
